Lorra Ley (b. 1991 Transnistria, Moldova) is a hybrid artist whose work bridges fine art, photography, performance and storytelling. She creates immersive dreamlike narratives that explore liminality, mythology and the unseen. Born at the dissolution of the Soviet Union, she moved to Germany with her mother at the age of four and spent most of her life in the south before later settling in Berlin.
From an early age, Lorra was deeply immersed in the arts—dancing, performing, sketching, writing poetry, and experimenting with different forms of creative expression. At 18, she attended acting school, training primarily in stage performance while also developing a keen interest in on-camera work. Moving to Berlin at 22, she pursued acting and modeling while organically expanding into styling, directing her own photo shoots, and exploring self-portraiture as a means of artistic storytelling.

At 25, a profound spiritual awakening led her on an journey of self-discovery, research, and transformation. Immersing herself in mythology, spirituality, and the unexplained, she explored existential themes that would later shape her artistic identity. Her creative path remained fluid—delving into music, working with children, and continuously experimenting across various disciplines.
In 2019, Lorra returned to Moldova, where she found solace in painting. Approaching the medium with curiosity rather than expectation, she allowed her artistic voice to emerge organically. In 2021, she collaborated on an illustrated children’s book about ancient Egyptian initiation, Little Steps and the Quest for the 3 Symbols, deepening her connection to visual storytelling. Over time, she refined her vision, intertwining elements of fairytales, Slavic melancholy, and ethereal symbolism into a distinct aesthetic she describes as “Liminal Fairytale Art.”
Now based in the Moldovan countryside with her partner and pets, Lorra continues to weave her multidisciplinary artistic background into introspective, otherworldly works. Rooted in a lifelong pursuit of meaning, her art acts as a portal—inviting viewers to step beyond the veil of the ordinary and into the realm of the unseen.
