Lorra Ley (born 1991 in Rîbnița, Moldova) is a painter and photographer with Slavic roots and a deep love for the dreamlike and the mystical.

A autodidact since early childhood with an insatiable thirst for artistic self-expression, she explored various artistic disciplines: including acting, dance, and music before finding her true calling in painting in 2024. Her work centeres around the longing for unknown worlds, melancholy and nostalgia . With influences from fairytales, mythology and mysticism, she seeks to express the capability of the human soul to dream and wonder. Combining rich vintage colours with often layered and rough textured surfaces, she creates an emotional landscape that inspires daydreams into the past. Female portraits, plants and enchanted objects imbued with motion and a sense whimsy are a main focus of her paintings. Her works invite the viewer to pause and listen to the voices of the past, of nature, and of the imagination – building bridges between the soul and fragile humanity, between the miraculous and the mundane. Photography serves as an additional anchor, allowing her to explore and capture the liminal spaces of hidden worlds. After 28 years in Germany, she returned to Moldova in 2019; where she now lives and works in the countryside.
